  1. Please add support for both M1 and Intel versions of Adobe CC installer in the shared catalog

Until Adobe gets it together and makes a universal installer, it would be really helpful to have both an M1 and intel installer option in the shared catalog

  2. Send important account related emails to Admins (as well as Owner)

It would be nice to have the option to send important account-related emails to "Admin" users as well as the "Owner."

  5. API call to unenroll a device without deleting it

Hi. I would like to be able to unenroll a device which MDM profile is locked without removing it completely in SimpleMDM. The deletion eventually fills the need but in the action, we can loose important informations from the device custom attributes.

  6. Support custom attributes in scripts

Now that scripting is here, it would be great to be able to tap into the custom attributes from within a script.

  7. Add "id" Field to "Export Devices" csv file

The "Export Devices" button that exports the list of devices to a CSV file is fairly robust and provides a lot of good information. However, obtaining the id for any given device has proven to be excruciating. The ONLY way to get a device ID is to the devices API call. Since pagination is limited to 100 pages and the only way to get to more pages is to have the last id number of the last call to fill in the "starting_after" field, Power Query is not feasible since it will throw errors if a query is dependent on…

Devices IDs are included in the "ID" field in the Devices Export (first column).

  8. Add 'allowCloudPrivateRelay' to Restrictions

Apple introduced iCloud Private Relay with the now released iOS 15 and upcoming macOS 12 Monterey.

Can the SimpleMDM Restrictions profile UI controls add the key to control that key before Monterey comes out? The feature was added to Monterey in beta 3.
(Beta 3) For supervised devices the use of iCloud Private Relay can be prevented with the allowCloudPrivateRelay restriction.

The key is allowCloudPrivateRelay documented at https://developer.apple.com/documentation/devicemanagement/restrictions

The “Allow iCloud private relay” option has been added to the Restrictions profile.

  9. Add schedule to script jobs

Scripts and jobs to run them are a fantastic addition but the jobs are single use at that this stage.

The ability to schedule jobs seems like the next logical iteration.

Keep up the good work SimpleMDM

  10. Implement Login Window MDM payload settings for Apple devices

Please consider implementing the Login Window MDM payload settings for Apple devices so that we can assign loginwindow settings (e.g., name/password vs. icon, login banner, etc.) for the loginwindow of macOS devices.

This feature is discussed here: https://support.apple.com/guide/mdm/login-window-payload-settings-mdm2a822b29/web.

Custom icons can now be uploaded for custom apps & nopkgs that are deployed using SimpleMDM's hosted Munki integration. When enabled, the Managed Software Center will display the provided custom icon.

Please note: Once the app is installed, the application will still use whichever icon was specified in the pkg/dmg. Additionally, custom pkgs that are only eligible for deployment via the MDM protocol do not currently support custom icons. This would require the pkg itself to be modified.

  12. Add a base Hashicorp Vagrant "Shared App" to the list

Since quite a few people use Hashicorp Vagrant, and Docker is trying to make money again.
Adding a basic install of Vagrant to the list of Shared Apps would probably benefit quite a few people.

Stretch goal: Letting folks submit munki recipes to be approved and shared, since most of us just use AutoPKG with the simplemdm plugin.

  15. An enrollment date would be nice.

Just a date that lets you know when the device was enrolled. Give you an idea of the age of the device.

  16. Allow greater configuration of Web Content Filters (FilterBrowsers)

The Web Content Filter profile creator does not support all the features offered by Apple (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/devicemanagement/webcontentfilter). In particular, configuring Crowdstrike Falcon requires setting a FilterDataProviderBundleIdentifier and associated permissions that are not configurable in SimpleMDM. This necessitates using a custom profile right now.

This is now supported in the native Web Content Filter profile in SimpleMDM.

  17. Display Architecture of App in Shared Catalog

Many apps now offer separate Intel, Apple Silicon & Universal Binary builds. Knowing which version is available in the shared app catalog will be very useful during the architecture transition.

  19. Allow scoping of profiles via Device OS type (eg. Macs / iOS / iPadOS)

Its often the case where iOS devices and macOS devices have differing passcode policies (user experience of a entering complex passwords on touchscreen keyboard).

Currently it's not possible to scope one passcode profile to different OS types. Same goes for custom profiles.. if you are using them, often profiles that don't apply to an iOS device end up being deployed unnecessarily (and hopefully ignored).

Extending the scope for OS types would be very useful.

  20. Add extra fields to the device list

    The device list currently displays:
Device Name Initial Group Model Status Serial Number Enrollment

It would be useful to be able to customize the fields being shown to include or exclude any of the fields available, including custom attribute fields.

Custom attributes and additional fields can now be displayed on the devices index page. Click the gear in the table to select more columns.

If there are additional specific attributes you would like, please create a new request.
